Chapter 1 ; Camp Huntington

It was Monday morning, the worst day of the week, and also the first day of summer.
I knew what that meant - Summer Camp. I glanced at the clock, when I heard someone coming up the stairs.
“Katherine! Get up right this instant!” my sister, Kirsten yelled as she barged into my room. Kirsten was not only my sister, but my twin. It was like looking at myself in the mirror. Only a whole lot worse.
“Fine.” I murmured, getting out of bed and shoving Kirsten out the door. I pulled on my favorite jeans, a t-shirt, and a pair of flip-flops. I put whatever would fit in my suitcase, and slammed it shut. Closing the door to my bedroom behind me, I walked down the stairs. Kirsten and my mom were already waiting in the car. “We're going to be late now, Katherine,” Kirsten said as I got into the car. Why was she so happy about spending the summer away at camp? I thought. Our mom backed out of the driveway, and started driving.
I watched as our house disappeared behind us down the street. We passed a sign that read, "Welcome to Huntington Beach, California." A few minutes later it came into sight. I saw a large building with cabins on either side. I said goodbye to my mom as I slumped out of our Porsche, frowning. "Don't be so unhappy, honey. You'll have a lovely time here and maybe you'll meet some new friends, too." She said, smiling. Yeah, right. I watched her drive away and then started walking towards the main building with Kirsten by my side. I sighed to myself, then opened the door and stepped inside.
The woman at the front desk checked us in and told us I would be staying with 3 other students in Cabin 1. When we found the right cabin, we put our suitcases down on the bed. I looked out the window. The sun was starting to sink pass the horizon. "I'm tired, I'm going to go to sleep." I told Kirsten. "Alright, goodnight," She replied.

I awoke in the middle of the night from a loud banging sound that was coming from the Cabin next to ours.
What was going on over there? I wondered. I turned around over on the mattress. Kirsten's bed was empty.
I didn't know what to do, so I put my shoes on and walked out of my cabin. I peered through the window of the cabin where the noise was coming. When I saw what was standing there, I screamed.
